Yesterday, Monday, November 16, I was on Fort Pickens Road at around 2:15.
This is how close to the road the wave already were, and I’d been told that the Park Service had already ordered everybody out of the park by 5 p.m.
Expecting very high winds and a surge of 8 or 9 feet, there’s no way this part of the road was not going under water.
In this shot you can barely see a small patch of white on the road. That’s where a wave had already broken through.
