Well, OK, TWO lone azalea blossoms. But there isn’t even another bud anywhere on the bush. And isn’t August an odd time for azaleas to bloom?
Just installed the new Apple OS – Mountain Lion – on my four year old MacBook Pro. Then I noticed a new icon on the Dock – “Notes.”
And what does it do, you ask? I can now open a new note, tap the fn key twice, and dictate a message. Whatever I say gets transcribed into text. Then I can message or email that text to whomever I want.
The word was literally invented a few years ago by a guy in the printing industry. It sounds good … Fancy … Professional … Special somehow … And – of course! – Expensive.
The invention is derived from a French word which means “nozzle.” And – hey! – it sounds great. But the truth is – “giclee” is nothing more than another word for inkjet.
Silly Passion Flower! Peeking at me over the edge of that leaf. Of course, I could have gone outside and photographed it head on. But where’s the fun in that? We’ve all seen Passion flowers head on.
Besides, it was hot outside. And if I had gone out just then my Cheerios would have gotten soggy!
This from my favorite photographer/philosopher, Dewitt Jones:
” … “I’m not really hearing voices. As a photographer, I see the light. I know there might be a good photo down there.”
(From his most recent column in Outdoor Photographer magazine.)
